Alocasia Silver Dragon- 6" Pot

With its silvery foliage, deep green veining and almost scale-like texture, the Alocasia Silver Dragon is one of those plants that hardly looks real. Its compact growth and highly detailed leaves make it a beautiful statement plant without requiring a huge amount of space.

Grown in a 6-inch nursery pot, the Silver Dragon is perfect for a plant shelf, side table or anywhere its incredible foliage can be appreciated up close. This Alocasia appreciates a little more attention than some of our easy-care varieties, making it a rewarding choice for plant lovers ready to give it the conditions it loves.

Care Instructions

Light:
Place in bright, indirect light. Avoid prolonged direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves. A spot near a bright window with filtered light is ideal.

Water:
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil begin to feel dry. Silver Dragons prefer their soil lightly and consistently moist but never soggy. Ensure the pot drains well and don't allow the plant to sit in standing water.

Humidity:
Alocasias appreciate higher humidity. Keep away from particularly dry areas and heating vents, especially during Ontario winters when indoor air can become very dry.

Temperature:
Keep your Silver Dragon warm and away from cold drafts. Avoid placing it directly beside exterior doors or cold windows during the winter months.

Plant Parent Tip:
Alocasias can occasionally lose an older leaf as they produce new growth, so one yellowing leaf isn't necessarily cause for alarm. Consistent light, warmth and watering will help keep your Silver Dragon happy.

Alocasias are toxic if ingested, so keep this plant out of reach of curious pets and children.
